Copper Plating

There are many different types of copper plating available. Whether it’s acid or alkaline-based, electrolytic or electroless, the process parameters determine the type of deposit that can be achieved.

It can be used as an intermediate layer to enhance adhesion or as a standalone final decorative finish. It can also be used as a functional coating for electrical and thermal conductivity, or where leveling or ductility is required.

The choice of which copper plating bath to use depends on many factors. These include deposition rate, operating current density range over which superior deposits can be obtained, throwing power, and resultant grain size which are some properties that affect the choice.

Nickel/Electroless Nickel Plating

CEL Coatings Industries offers a comprehensive range of nickel-based coatings, including both mid- and high-phosphorous electroless nickel plating. Our services also cover dull and bright nickel finishes, as well as advanced nickel composite coatings such as EN-PTFE.

We are equipped to process a wide variety of substrates, including aluminum, steel, magnesium, zinc, aluminum die castings, and plastics.

Plastic Plating

Plastic plating is widely utilized across various industries, offering both functional and aesthetic benefits. From enhancing the appearance of automotive accessories with chrome finishes to providing gold plating for medical components to ensure conductivity and corrosion resistance, CEL Coating Industries delivers comprehensive solutions tailored to diverse requirements.

Applying metallic coatings to plastic parts presents several advantages. Notably, it enables significant weight and cost reduction by allowing lightweight plastic components to replace heavier metal ones, all while maintaining essential properties such as electrical conductivity. Metallic coatings effectively transform non-conductive substrates into functional components, expanding the versatility and application of plastic materials.

Precious Metal Coating

Gold plating is widely used in the electronics and semiconductor industries, particularly for applications such as soldering and wire bonding.

Soft gold offers excellent wire bonding capabilities due to its purity, though it has a slightly less shiny appearance compared to hard gold. Hard gold, which incorporates small amounts of nickel and cobalt, delivers enhanced durability and a highly reflective finish, making it ideal for components that require mechanical wear resistance and a bright surface. However, hard gold is generally not recommended for parts that need wire bonding.

At CEL Coating Industries, we specialize in both soft and hard gold plating and can plate on a variety of substrates including copper, steel, aluminum, and even plastics.

In addition to gold plating, we also offer high-quality silver plating services.

PTFE Coating

PTFE coatings are applied to components to enhance their lubricity and provide superior non-stick properties.
